The recently approved Decree on the Simplification and Rationalization of Administration in the Balearic Islandsopens up an exceptional opportunity:
the retroactive legalization of constructions built outside urban planning regulations that have so far existed in a legal grey area.
In other words:
A house or finca built without a permit, an unlawfully constructed swimming pool, or a garage (carport) can now be legalized retroactively — provided certain conditions are met.

The deadline is three years from June 20, 2024. After this period, no further retroactive legalization will be possible.
